Today in Human Geo Mr. Shick gave back the tests to the people who was absent yesterday. Also today, we had a shadow in our class whose name was Ryan. After that we continued taking notes. One thing we talked about was TFR which stands for Total Fertility Rate. TFR is also referred to as the replacement rate. The TFR for the US is 2.06. For a population to remain the same, the TFR must be 2.1. If the TFR is higher than 2.1, than the population rises. If it is lower than 2.1, than the population lowers. Even though the US’s TFR rate is lower than 2.1, the population is not lowering because of the number of people immigrating into the US. We also talked about pull forces and push forces. We came up with some of our own push and pull forces. We talked about the immigration rate also. The immigration rate is 3.62.
