Tonight’s assignment is to add two facts about each leader. Also, to add more information tomorrow.

President Enrique Pena Nieto:

1.     He is a member of the institutional revolutionary party.

2.     He also served as governor of the State of Mexico.

Chancellor Angela Merkel:

1.     He is a former research scientist.

2.     She has been the Chancellor of Germany since 2005 and the leader of the Christian Democratic Union. She is the first woman to hold either position.

President Bashar al- Assad:

1.     He has served as president since 2000.

2.     He is also the General Secretary of the Ba’ath Party and Regional Secretary of the party’s branch in Syria.

 President Xi Jinping:

1.     He is the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China.

2.     He is also the Chairman of the Central Military Commission.

Prime Minister Dave Cameron:

1.     He is the leader of the Conservative Party.

2.     He represents Witney as its Member of Parliament.

 Monarch Elizabeth II:

1.     She is the constitutional monarch of 16 of 53 member states.

2.     She is also Head of Common wealth and Supreme Governor of the Church of England.

President Pranab Mukherjee:

1.     He has been President since 2012.

2.     He was also a Union Finance Minister from 2009 to 2012.

President Francois Hollande:

1.     He was the First Secretary of the French Socialist Party.

2.     He also served in the National Assembly twice.

Emperor Akihito:

1.     He is the eldest son and fifth son.

2.     He acceded to the throne in 1989.

 President Vladimir Putin:

1.     He had been President of Russia since May 7, 2012.

2.     He was the Prime Minister of Russia from 1999 to 2000.

President Dilma Rousseff:

1.     She is the first woman to hold this office.

2.     She was previously the Chief of Staff of the President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva from 2005 to 2010.

President Reuven Rivlin:

1.     He has been President of Israel since 2014.

2.     He was a member of the Likud Party.
