1-16-15 Class: Last Class

Today in Human Geo we had our last test which was on North Korea. Today was also our last class. For the most part, the test was easy. There was a few hard questions. One of the question was what the capitol of North Korea is. There was a map and we had to know where the countries listed were located. There was questions about the government. There were questions on cult personality. North Korea is like a dictatorship. North Korea is isolated by the government and geographically. Another part of the test was there was statements and we had to decide if that described North or South describe. Mr. Schick said that we would know what we got before we leave class today. I did really well on todays test. I got a 93% on the North Korea test. It was really cool having Mr. Schick as a teacher this semester.

1-15-15 Class

Today in Human Geo we reviewed what is going to be on the test tom. Mr. Schick said that there would be a question about what the capitol which is Pyongyang. We also need to know what type of government they have. The have a state- ran socialist government or a Stalinist Dictatorship. North Korea has an oppressive government. The official name of their government is Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. North Korea thinks that they are the only legit Korea. North Korea is isolated by the government. They are also somewhat isolated by geographically. The average income is $1,800 or $150 per month. The three people who have been leader of North Korea is Kim Il- Sung, Kim Jung- Il, and the present leader which is Kim Jung- Un. The people of North Korea thought that the present leader would change things because he has been to other parts of the world, has let an American into his country, and loves basketball. They were wrong though.

1-9-15 Class

Today in Human Geo we finished up the film that we were watching. When we came into class and he told us that we would be going to the TV Studio to continue watching the film. But, he said while he was taking attendance that I would come up and tell the class about the book that I brought in. So, while he took attendance I came up told them a little bit about the book then passed it around. After that, we went to the TV Studio and watched the film. In the movie the doctors that went to perform surgery had a goal to do over 1,000 people in 10 days. While the doctors did their surgery, the camera crew went around North Korea to get some footage of what it is really like in North Korea. So, on the tenth day, all the patients met in the same room and took off their bandages to see if the doctor was successful with the surgery. Which when they did that, they found out he was successful.

1-8-15 Class

Today in Human Geo we started to watch a video about North Korea. The Boarder between North Korea and South Korea is the most militarized boarder in the world. In the movie there is an eye doctor/ surgeon who goes around the world and sets up clinics to give people their vision back. They said that doing that in North Korea was going to be hard. When they got permission to come they started to get ready. What North Korea did not know is that they were going to bring their camera crews with them to get footage of what North Korea is really like. In North Korea no outside information is allowed into the country. Every type of media is controlled by the government. Also, in North Korea they have Nuclear Weapons. Since North Korea became their own country they have only had 3 leaders and they were all related to each other.

1-7-15 Class

Forgot to post yesterday.

Today in Human Geo we continued on the unit on North Korea. Since a few people were absent on Monday we started from the beginning of the Unit. So, we went over everything we did on Monday so the people could get what they missed. North Korea has an oppressive government. They are very secluded and isolated from the rest of the world. North Korea is currently headed by Kim Jong- Un. Their government is a state- run socialist government that many consider to be a Stalinist Dictator. The official name is Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Notice that they say Korea, not North Korea. North Korea is isolated by the Government. Also somewhat isolated geographically. Pyongyang is the capital of North Korea. It is located at 39° latitude. Also, Bel Air, MD is also located at the same line of latitude. So, both places have similar weather. The average income of North Korea is $1,800 or $150 per month.
